The dictionary defines the word rebellion as: open resistance to authority
Ephesians 4: | 6: “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
|
Psalm 75: | 6: “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7: But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.” |
1 Corinthians 15: | 27: “For he (the Father) hath put all things under his (the Son’s) feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28: And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.” |
Matthew 28: | 18: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” |
Ephesians 1: | 20: “Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21: Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church.” |
Revelation 12: | 4: “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth...” |
Two thirds of the angel host remained loyal to the Almighty. The remaining third joined Lucifer in his rebellion. This rebel third later assumed positions of God-like authority over the heathen and have tragically misused their powers to deceive billions of souls in all countries. These angels constitute the hard core rebels which have spread chaos on earth and throughout space. See Sermon Notes Angels, Fallen Angels, Messengers of God, Angel Protection, Satan the Devil and Satanic Attack for more details about Angels - good and evil.
Psalm 8: | 4: “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5: For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6: Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:” |
Isaiah 14: | 12: “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13: For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15: Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.” |
Revelation 22 | 16: “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” |
The second reference concerning the Devil's rebellion is:
Ezekiel 28: | 1: “The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying, 2: Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God: 3: Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee: 4: With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures: 5: By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches: 6: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God; 7: Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness. 8: They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas. 9: Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.” |
2 Thessalonians 2: | 1: “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2: That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3: Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4: Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” |
Deuteronomy 9: | 24: “Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.”
|
Isaiah 30: | 8: “Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever: 9: That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: 10: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:” |
Isaiah 65: | 2: “I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;”
|
Ezekiel 12: | 2: “Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.” |
Daniel 9: | 4: “And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments; 5: We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments: 6: Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. 7: O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.” |
Lamentations 1: | 18: “The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment:” |
Zephaniah 1: | 8: “And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD's sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.” |
Colossians 4: | 6: “Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
|
Matthew 12: | 36: “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.”
|
James 4: | 8: “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” |
Romans 1: | 1: “22: Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23: And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24: Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26: For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28: And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29: Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30: Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31: Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” |
The Bible tells us that God is going to punish blatant sinners just as He did in days gone by. He didn't spare evil angels for cohabiting with human females. He didn't spare mankind in the days of Noah. He didn't spare Sodom in the days of Lot. In fact He burned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes. So it is foolish beyond imagination to suppose that God has somehow changed and will react differently towards the sins of this generation.
Genesis 3: | 1: “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” |
In other words: ‘Is that really what God said or meant? And are you sure He is correct? Because I know the fact is: Ye shall not surely die.’ Here is Satan planting doubt in Eve's mind; and, like a deadly contraceptive, it nullified the Truth God had spoken. Eve sinned because she doubted God and believed Satan.
Acts 8: | 26: “And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. 27: And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, 28: Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet. 29: Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. 30: And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? 31: And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. 32: The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: 33: In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. 34: And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? 35: Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. 36: And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37: And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38: And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. 39: And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. 40: But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.” |
Hidden in this passage is a statement of belief of utmost
importance. It's found in (verse 37:)
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart,
thou mayest.
And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Most modern translations of the Bible [bracket] or
omit this verse altogether! Is that not a deadly
declaration of unbelief in the Holy Bible, the Bible God
has miraculously preserved and used for hundreds and hundreds
of years? It most certainly is. Because the truth is,
this verse constitutes the very heart of the Christian Gospel.
All other truths stem from it or are founded on it.
Not only is Jesus Christ the Son of God; but he is the only begotten Son of God. According to the Dictionary the Greek word translated begotten is ‘monogenes.’ It means ‘mono’ (of one and the same) ‘genes;’ the genetic code that is passed from parents to children that issue from their bodies. Monogenes is only used of sons or daughters who issue from their parents bodies; children who have their parents genes. Unlike Adam who was a created son (note the small ‘s’) of God (Luke 3: 38) Jesus was the begotten, the only begotten, the genetic, biological SON of GOD!
Luke 3: | 38: “Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.” |
This word ‘begotten’ is slowly being phased out of modern translations of the Bible. See NIV renderings of (John 1: 18, 3: 16 & 18, Acts 13: 33, 1 John 4: 9) and (Revelation.1: 5). In its place come phrases and words like one, only, unique, firstborn etc. Read A Voice In The Wilderness - Canada article Bible Versions where this deception is exposed for what it is, an end-time masterpiece of Satan!
Are you a rebel? That may sound like an insulting question. But it is not meant to be. Rather, it is an invitation to examine yourself to see whether you have any doubts about God, His only begotten Son Jesus and His Holy Word. Because if you do, it will not be long before you join the rebellion sweeping the earth.
