On This Pleasant Sabbath Day
1.
On this pleasant Sabbath day,
let us sing a joyful lay,
To the God who reigns in earth-
and up in heaven above.
2.
He has kept us through the week,
and today His smile we seek,
As we humbly ask Him for-
His blessing and His love.
3.
He has kept us free from harm=
by His mighty outstretched arm,
And He gives His living Word-
to guide our weary feet.
4.
May we learn it now in love,
and direct our thoughts above,
Where about His mighty throne,
the happy angels meet.
5.
Praise to Him who will not fail-
when our enemies assail,
And when dangers shall arise,
protect us where we stand.
6.
He will bring us safe at last,
when the dangers are all past,
To our happy homes within,
His earthly Kingdoms reign.
A blessèd Seventh Day Sabbath, to all believers.
In the Son’s Name - For the Father’s glory.
