O glorious King, Creator, Lord,
whom angels love to praise,
Once more we meet to hear Thy Word-
and tune to Thee our lays.

Thy perfect law unchanged shall stand,
a testament of love,
Kept by Thy saints in every land-
and by the hosts above.
3.
Sweet Sabbath day, thy sacred hours-
bring solace to the breast,
And call from toil and worldly cares-
to peace and hallowed rest.
4.
When journeying Sabbaths here shall cease-
and earthly cares we flee,
Grant us, dear LORD, eternal peace-
in Sabbaths nearer Thee.
