“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith;
prove your own selves...”
Examine Yourselves Index
The Answers to the following Questions can be found in the lessons of
Module 12.
Question 1: |
Believe it or not, the God of Israel, has enemies - whom He
hates! These enemies not only include the host of evil angels who
Satan led in a revolt against God, but also certain human beings who
totally reject God's offer of salvation. Jehovah hates the people who
develop a mentality of sophisticated disgust for His presence, His Son,
His Word, His laws and His people Israel. In fact, the Bible says:
“He hateth all the workers of iniquity!”
Name two of Yahweh's friends and two of His enemies.
Also define how one becomes a friend of God!
See Lesson 1 for the answer.
|
Question 2: |
Yeshua the Messiah ( Jesus Christ ) is the only “begotten Son of
God.” He was not created like Adam was, but issued as a
“begotten son” issues from the body of his father. Satan wants
mankind to doubt this fact. As a result almost every thing God does
or says is now doubted by millions of souls. What amazing privilege does
the Almighty God now extend to those who receive and believe Him?
See Lesson 2 for the answer.
|
Question 3: |
Millions of Christians are being deceived by a counterfeit
“Gift of Tongues.” It is sweeping the churches.
But what are the signs of “true discipleship;” and what are
the “spiritual fruits” all believers ought to be looking for,
before they commit their souls to these “wonder-working blatant sinners”
who pose as spokesmen of God?
See Lesson 3 for the answer.
|
Question 4: |
During the 6th Trumpet ( the 2nd Woe ) when “one third”
of the human race will perish, “Two Witnesses” will appear on
earth to preach in Jerusalem where our Lord was crucified.
Who are the “Two Witnesses?” List the Bible clues which
led you to your answer.
See Lesson 4 for the answer.
|
Question 5: |
King Belshazzar of Babylon treated the things of “Jehovah”
with total contempt. He insulted the God of Heaven when he threw
a banquet for his courtiers and their women and proceeded to
guzzle wine and strong drink from the “sacred bowls and vessels”
taken from the Temple in Jerusalem. God decided to slay king Belshazzar.
But before sentence of death was passed on Belshazzar, what procedure
did God go through and how does this fact concern every soul on earth?
See Lesson 5 for the answer.
|
Question 6: |
The rehabillitation of sinners is not possible by man's methods.
Governments and social organizations play at “rehabilitaion.”
Man's methods scratch the surface and his results - at best - are
pathetic. But “the Gospel of Christ is the POWER OF GOD unto
salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also
to the Greek.” The Gospel works where all else fails.
What is the Gospel; and why is it so succesful at saving sinners?
See Lesson 6 for the answer.
|
Question 7: |
Left to themselves, human governments inevitably slide into
sin and chaos. Things may temporarily appear to be getting better;
but in fact they are getting worse. As a result “every one wants
to do what is right in their own eyes.” But this too produces
chaos! There is little doubt, the world needs the divine rulership
of the King of kings - “Jesus Christ - ( Yeshua the Messiah ).”
List the troubles that manifest themselves when people “do what
is right in their own eyes.”
See Lesson 7 for the answer.
|
Question 8: |
Discontentment is on the increase. Few people are happy with
their lot. They are on an emotional treadmill of wanting more
and more of everything that titillates and thrills them. It's a
mad scramble for pleasure. The Bible says: “Godliness
with contentment is great gain.” What is godliness and
where can we find it? What lessons are there in Scripture that
teach us to be content with what God has given us?
See Lesson 8 for the answer.
|
Question 9: |
Millions believe that man is simply an intelligent ape! Scripture
teaches the very opposite; that man was created in God's
image - to be like Him! How would you go about trying to
be 'like God?'
See Lesson 9 for the answer.
|
Question 10: |
A “spiritual virgin” is a faithful and obedient believer
who remains chaste and holy when all others engage in immoral
worship: a believer who does not spiritually “sleep around” with
“pagan Gods” or “embrace unclean doctrines” or “forms” of worship.
According to the parable of the Ten Virgins, half were not ready
when the bridegroom ( Jesus Christ ) came for his bride.
What do you suppose the “oil shortage” in this parable represents;
and how can we avoid becoming a “foolish virgin?”
See Lesson 10 for the answer.
|
Question 11: |
Though the “LORD” doesn't “tempt” a person to sin, He
doesn't remove every problem from His followers lives; but leaves
them to test faith and obedience. In ancient Israel's case God
left the Philistines “to prove Israel by them, to know
whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the LORD,
which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.”
Name a few things which you think God has left us to confront
in order to evaluate our “faith” and “obedience.”
See Lesson 11 for the answer.
|
Question 12: |
“In spiritual matters, the Bible is the Final Authority.”
It ranks above the opinions of churchmen, educational establishments
and even the government of the day. Popes, cardinals, Reverends and
ordinary Preachers may say what they will, when deciding on spiritual
matters, one should take the Bible line - “no matter how unpopular
it may be.” List some reasons why “true believers” should hold the
Bible in such high regard.
See Lesson 12 for the answer.
